The Department of Biotechnology is one of the pioneers to establish a research culture among the academic fraternity at KCT. An Anna University approved Research Centre, presently 8 faculty members have been recognised as supervisors to guide research scholars. Some of the major research domains in the field of Biotechnology include Computational Biology, Molecular Dynamics, Machine Learning,Food Biotechnology, Food Processing, Biofuel, Antioxidants and Medicinal Plants, Medical Textiles, Mushroom Biology, Enzyme Technology, Waste water treatment, Biodiesel, Phytochemicals, Probiotics &Nutraceuticals, Microbial peptides, Nanotechnology, Environmental Engineering, Bioprocessing and Bio-Product recovery.
