ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
School of Foundational Sciences instils a strong base in Applied sciences and English language to the students of Engineering and Technology. The Department of Mathematics is well equipped with 23 dedicated, qualified and experienced faculty members. The Department offers various papers in Mathematics discipline for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate students of all programmes. It acts as the bedrock of all technical Sciences.
ABOUT SCIENCE ACADEMIES
Founded in 1934 by Sir C V Raman the Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore was established with the main objective of promoting the progress and upholding the cause of science. The Science Academies have been supporting two/three-day lecture workshops and fifteen¬day refresher courses on topics of current interest throughout the country. All the programmes conducted by the Joint Science Education Panel of the Academies are fully supported by the Department of Science and Technology, Gal. DST has undertaken a series of activities to mark 75 years of India’s Independence (Azadi ka Am rut Mahotsav). The Mahotsav is a series of S& T programmes and events to be organised to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence. The curtain raiser activities began from 12 March, 75 weeks prior to 15 August 2022. The lecture workshops/refresher courses are part of the series in these programmes. The Academy will also organize periodic lectures by eminent scientists. These programs will be adequately expanded in the celebration of the 75 years of Indian Independence.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
This lecture workshop is focused to benefit the students, faculty members and research scholars to attain an expertise in developing cognitive skills mathematically about biological systems. Participants are sure to acquire fundamental skills in mathematical analysis and simulation, specialized experience in mathematical modeling in biology and neuroscience and knowledge of particular areas of biology. In addition to this, the modelling of real time problems in the form of mathematical equations, its solution methods and its impact on the global challenges are to be explained to them. Moreover, the numerical techniques will be dealt with which will provide the learners a clear idea about the behavior of the problem or the model provided. Finally, this lecture workshop is intended to motivate the students, research scholars and faculty members in understanding the applications of mathematics in biology.
Who can participate?
PG/UG students of Science and Engineering and faculty members handling Mathematics can participate. There is no registration fee to attend the workshop. Limited participants will be permitted, and registration is done on a “First Come First Served” basis. The duly filled-in registration form to be sent to the Co-Ordinator on or before 15.02.2022
