ABOUT DEPARTMENT OF EEE
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, has been offering a full time 4-year undergraduate B.E. programme in Electrical & Electronics Engineering since 1984 and two-year full time M.E. Embedded System Technologies programme. The department has around 30 research scholars pursuing Ph.D. in electrical engineering and around 20 members have been awarded Ph.D. The Department has organized several International and National level conferences, short-term training programmes and workshops. The department has well equipped state of art laboratories such as power electronics, electrical machines, embedded systems, and power system simulation.
ABOUT THE FDTP
Power Electronics deals with the processing and control of electrical power from an electrical source into the form and quality suitable for a particular electrical load. The objective of this faculty development programme aims is to give better exposure to the faculty members in the field of power electronics. It also provides a platform for the academicians to update themselves on the analysis of power electronic converters. The aim of the FDTP is to impart better knowledge on the subject and understand the concepts through illustrations and applications. The proposed FDTP is to discuss the fundamentals and recent developments in power electronics The Programme envisages on getting exposure to design, simulation, and implementation of Power electronic circuits, drives and controllers.
Topics Covered
- Power semiconductor devices
- AC-DC converter
